Process Log 9/21 - 9/25

Goals From Last Week: I completed all of my goals this week by completing my rough research proposal and contacting some possible mentors.

Mentor: This week I contacted the possible mentors I mentioned in the last entry and am currently waiting on their responses. I continue to hope that Mrs, Crockom will accept as her job as the educational director would be perfect for my project.

Research/Product: I also started researching some of the data the poison center has available online and found that a personalized data table of cases reported can be requested from the association. However in order to request one, you have to fill out a six page long form justifying why you absolutely need this data. Even if it is accepted it will take an estimated 8 weeks to arrive and by then I will have moved on in my research. I feel it is best to stick to the available information unless absolutely necessary. I also have thought about narrowing down my topic as poisoning deaths is a little to broad. I may base the project on all poison deaths but have a focus for my product on a certain common, or relatively unknown poison cause like caffeine poisoning.

Goals for Next Week: My goals for next week are to finish or almost finish my research on the poison control statistics, and tweak my research proposal if needed.
